Follow your Breath

Explore the art process lifestyle through mindful mixed media

How we inhale and exhale has profound effects on our health—and not just during a crisis like the pandemic
— James Nestor

I keep on focusing on this subject: How focusing on our breath teaches us about our state of being. Art is a means of self discovery. So in my live classes and facebook live workshops, I have been focusing on how we can use the breath as an inspiration for an abstract painting. In turn the piece becomes a highly personal, expressive and intuitive piece.

James Nestor, in his book “ Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art” talks about an ancient focus on how breath changes the nervous system and how we have neglected to harness its power until “I can’t Breathe” hits us (from others or ourselves).

I’ve also been thinking about an earlier blog post on Creativity and Self Forgiveness. I think you’ll love it! This is a lifestyle…something I have developed over the years through challenges of my own.

I like your way of teaching- slow mindful process just to quote you.
