My 4 Most Important Art Elements in Mixed Media

which questions to ask when you’re stuck on a piece?

This is tricky: When I teach, I encourage process, intuition and personal expression. However, I have a fine art education background and I was schooled in the elements of art and the elements of composition. Sometimes this knowledge can stifle my intuitive process but often it helps me to resolve a piece when I feel stuck.

As a creative coach, I tread that fine line. That is why I am developing a series of e-courses that does exactly that. I create content that I would love to receive! I inspire creative thinking and experimentation, while weaving in the elements that I think make for a more successful outcome, especially in abstract work. My medium is mixed media and collage, so the series will be teaching how to use a variety of materials and eventually put them together in a fun, inspiring way.

I have been my spending free time over the past few months reading and watching YouTube to learn as much as possible about mixed media collage. I finally decided to give Kathy’s class a try and I’m so glad I did. Her instructions are clear, with just the right balance of guidance and creativity. I have already inquired about another class. Thank you, Kathy, for the care you take in making this experience rewarding for your students…
